About Us
Welcome to Fellowship Journal 2012!
The Fellowship Journal is a great tool designed to connect us with God and each other by reading, meditating upon and applying Scripture to our lives. We invite you to be a part of this great journey as a church family.
In 2012 we will be journeying through the entire Bible over the course of the year. Each day we will read passages from the Old Testament, New Testament and the Psalms. You can read all three passages in one sitting or read a passage at different times during the day (for example, morning, noon and evening), which will allow you to interact with scripture throughout the day. Some days you may only find time for 1-2 passages, and that’s OK too.
Suggestions For Reading The Fellowship Journal
Find a quiet moment in your day to be alone with God. Before you begin reading, ask God to help you become present and receptive to what He wants to teach you in your reading today.
Look up the Scripture for the day in your Bible. Each day’s passage is available by online at myfellowshipjournal.com and through Fellowship’s iPhone and Android apps (free at Apple’s App Store and the Android Marketplace). Most people simply have the day’s passage automaticaly emailed (sign up at MyFellowshipJournal.com).
Read the passage slowly. Even repeat it once or twice if you have the time. (Try not to read it like you would an email or the newspaper. Instead, read it deliberately and gradually.) What is key verse for you in the passage?
As you read the passage, ask yourself what thoughts and feelings are being stirred in you. What is God teaching you about Him and about you? How would you like to be different today because of what you read?
Conclude your time in prayer. Ask God for the grace to apply to your life today what you learned in the reading.
Remember, the point of reading along in the Journal is to grow in grace and knowledge as a follower of Jesus. The goal is not to read as much of the Bible as we can. It’s not uncommon to fall behind in your reading. If that happens to you, don’t feel guilty. Instead, feel free to just jump to the current day’s readings.
